Home Care Support Services to Help You Stay Independent

Support at home can make all the difference. Whether you're starting to notice changes in your health, caring for an ageing parent, or looking into aged care options for the first time, we're here to help guide you through your next steps, clearly, respectfully, and at your pace.

From shower assistance and help with personal care, to meal preparation, medication support, and transport to appointments, our services are designed to help older South Australians live well at home for longer.

What Is Home Care Support?

If you or a loved one is starting to need a little extra help at home, you’re not alone. You may have had a My Aged Care assessment, or you’re in the process of applying for support through programs like:

  • The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) – for entry-level help with things like cleaning, transport or personal care
  • The Support at Home Program – launched on 1 November 2025, replacing Home Care Packages. It’s designed to better support older Australians with more complex or ongoing care needs, offering a more flexible and tailored approach to in-home support.

No matter where you are in the process,  we can help. Whether you’re just getting started or already have funding in place, our team will guide you through each step.

How to Access Home Care

To access government-funded home care services, you’ll need to register with My Aged Care and complete an assessment. If you’re approved, you’ll either receive support through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) or be assigned Support at Home funding at one of eight levels, depending on your needs.

Once your funding is in place, Life Care can become your chosen provider, helping you make the most of your support by building a care plan tailored to your life, routines, and goals.

Not sure if you’re approved yet? Even if you’re still finding your way through the process, our team is happy to explain what happens next and how we can help once your services are ready to begin.
