Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) helps older Australians access entry-level support services to live independently and safely at home. If you need a small amount of help with everyday tasks, or occasional assistance, Life Care's CHSP services could be right for you. CHSP is about providing timely, low-intensity support to help you maintain your independence and stay connected with your community.
Who is CHSP For?
CHSP is designed for individuals who generally need:
-
Low-level support, often for one or two specific services.
-
Occasional assistance rather than ongoing, complex care. Eligibility for CHSP is determined through a My Aged Care assessment.

-
Details of these costs are outlined in the Life Care CHSP contribution schedule
-
We are committed to discussing any contributions with you upfront, ensuring transparency.
Transitioning from CHSP to Support at Home
The CHSP is transitioning into the new Support at Home program. Life Care is committed to ensuring this change is as smooth as possible for our CHSP clients. We will provide you with information about how these changes may affect your services and support you through the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Eligibility for CHSP is determined via an assessment coordinated by My Aged Care. If you need assistance with this process, Life Care can guide you.
Contributions are modest and vary by service type. Please refer to the Life Care CHSP Contribution Schedule or speak with our team for specific details.
If your care needs become more complex, your My Aged Care assessment may indicate that other programs, like a Home Care Package or the new Support at Home program, are more appropriate. Life Care can help you explore these options.
