Support at Home Program deferred until 1 November 2025
Dear Life Care Clients and Family Members,
We wish to inform you of a recent update regarding the Australian Government’s new Support at Home program.
On 4 June 2025, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing announced that the commencement of the new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home program has been deferred from 1 July 2025 to 1 November 2025. This decision was made to allow additional time for aged care providers to prepare their clients, support their workers, and ensure systems are ready for the changes.
Please find a link below to an open letter from the Department confirming the deferral of the new Act and Support at Home Program.

In recent weeks you may have received a Life Care Fact sheet, outlining the key changes that the new Support at Home Program will bring. Please be assured that this information remains relevant and will apply when the Support at Home program is implemented later this year.
We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this transition and will provide further updates as they become available.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Grace Scaffidi
