Each year on August 7, we celebrate Aged Care Employee Day – a special time to recognise the hardworking people who support older South Australians through their work in aged care. At Life Care, this is a moment to pause and appreciate the dedication, effort, and kindness our team, and every employee within the aged care sector across Australia, brings to their roles every single day.
From home care support workers and allied health professionals to office staff and more, every person plays a vital part in our vision in Shaping positive ageing. They are the friendly faces, the compassionate listeners, and the skilled professionals who help promote comfort, safety, and independence for those we support.
Why This Day Matters
At Life Care, we believe working in aged care is more than just a job; it’s a calling. Behind every warm smile, comforting word, and thoughtful act, there’s a team member who truly cares.
A lot of what our team does happens quietly, often behind the scenes. We want to thank them for showing up day after day to help promote comfort, safety and independence for those they support – whether that’s through personal care, helping with mobility, or simply being a friendly face. Even if it’s not always visible, the impact of the impact of their work makes a real difference.
Aged Care Employee Day is a simple opportunity to say thank you. To recognise the skills, patience and compassion involved in supporting older South Australians to continue living in their own homes and communities.
