Doug Ranson
Director
Doug brings twenty-five years’ experience in the health sector, principally in Community Health where the client voice was always paramount in service planning, development and evaluation. He has a strong commitment to hearing that voice in service delivery in the aged care sector and to social justice and equity in service provision.
Following an initial honours degree in science Doug worked in research for some time then worked with adults with an intellectual disability for a number of years before returning to university and gaining a degree in nutrition and dietetics. In a twenty-five-year career with SA Health he provided clinical services and worked with other sectors in health promotion and education. Later in his career he became the manager of the Noarlunga Community Health Service and then Clinical Services Manager in the newly established Noarlunga GP Super Clinic. Doug was a lecturer in Community based nutrition at Flinders University and at Tabor, Chair of the Dietitians Association of SA for three years, and gained post graduate qualifications in public health.
Doug is currently Chair of the Board of Noarlunga Centre Church of Christ.
